A Local's Guide to Beautiful Burleigh
We love our little home suburb of Burleigh, and want to share some of the delights it has to offer. Here you'll find our top picks of what to do, where to eat, and how to come say hello. The comprehensive day trip guide.
Caffeinate
It's not a beach trip without good coffee, and we're pretty chuffed to be located just two doors down from the best brew in Burleigh. At Burleigh Baker, you're sure to receive a top-tier cup of joe. Try one of their many sourdough creations while you're there, like croissant or a cupcake, or grab a loaf of freshly baked bread to take home with you.
Move
There's no shortage of natural beauty around Burleigh Heads. Walk from Miami headland to Burleigh headland to enjoy this stretch of golden sand framed against a crisp blue sky. At only 2.5km each way, this flat walk can be done on either the beach or the footpath and is perfect for some laid back exercise or if you have a pram. Miami headland is full of photo opportunities, too, from the lookout view to the rainbow staircase.
Another option is to explore Burleigh Heads National Park. Adventure to the walk track at the top of Burleigh Hill, where you'll be treated to stunning panoramic ocean views amongst the greenery and wildlife. A variety of walking tracks are available for different experience levels, and will either take you back to where you started or to the beautiful Tallebudgera Creek.
If you're feeling energetic, pair both walks for the quintessential ocean/forest fusion.
Shop
There's plenty of wonderful boutiques to visit in Burleigh's iconic James Street, and we're proud to be one of them. Stop by to say hello and see our beautiful offerings for yourself - our scents, our fabrics are even better in person. We've poured love into our store, and we hope you love it too.
Eat
You can pretty much guarantee a good bite anywhere you go in Burleigh. If you want to eat like a local, stop by Govinda's for the ultimate feel-good feast - and make sure you try the kofta balls. You'll find the best acai at Helen's Heavenly Wholefoods Café and the poke bowls at Finn poke are just divine. If your tastes are a little more gourmet, oceanside restaurants and Bar Rick Shores and Burleigh Pavilion will not disappoint. Situated just metres from the sea, you won't want to leave in a hurry.
So there you have it: a comprehensive local's guide to Burleigh day trips. We hope to see you stop by soon - we would be so glad to share our shining corner of the Gold Coast.
